Did any of the later year W123's have ABS on them? Even though MB is usually way ahead on safety I'm thinking that that was not an option, but I can't find any info on it.

I had to jam on the brakes 3 times last week when idiots cut me off and I was thinking that had I been w/o ABS at the time, I would have slid into someone's bumper or been sideways.

ABS was an option on W123's from 1981, for DM 2712.
It was available for the first time in 1978 in the W116 models.

It wasn't an option in the US is what we've been able to determine, however because it was available at least in europe it should be able to be converted, alot of stuff needs to be replaced thou. An 80's S-class abs system may be interchangeable. Alot of the braking system (and stuff in general) is swapable.

Yes, they had such option, I have 280 TE with ABS, but now have to change differential, so, I have to find a used one with ABS or buy a new one, that costs a lot... Seems to be an expensive extra, but very useful...
