My 1992 190E 2.3 had to be towed last week because it would not start.Found the vacuum line under the intake manifold that goes to the idle-air valve off. The car now starts and runs fine but the ABS light pulsates and the transmission shifts hard. The transmission was rebuilt 1000 miles ago. I replaced the OVP relay fuse-no help. When you turn on a AM radio station you can here the pulsating-sounds like a turn signal blinker. The car was towed on a flat bed.
Any ideas?

thanks-Bob

Update:Found vacuum line off modulator valve. Found ABS relay on ABS servo(front left engine compartment) cycling. This was causing the light to go bright/dim and the static on the radio. Removed relay to de-activate system for further trouble shooting. Replaced fuse and then swapped OVP-no help.Any further ideas most welcome.

The OVP was replaced last year with a new one. I replaced the fuse. I ran the car with the OVP fuse removed and there as a big difference in the idle, so I assumed the OVP was working.
