Have a line on a E350 so..........were about to sell a 1999 S420. Trying to get an idea of what to ask for it.

340,000 km
bought for my wife’s use 2 years ago from her dad the original owner. 80 year old
Silver with gray leather.
Drives and operates like a 2 year old car.
Would sell this car to a friend or neighbour.
Issues:

Rear sunshade missing one wheelie guy so we don’t use it.
Power ant no operative but fully extended.
Pass side front door lock button does not operate under power but will operate manually. (no hiss or air leaks)
Small amount of peely rust around one rear fender lip (by the tire)

Tranny, full A/C system and heater control panel replace 4-5 years ago.

Any comments or suggestion of price point would be appreciated.

West GTA area of Ontario, Canada

Thanks,

Larry

I'm thinking $2500. The rust issue, small as it may be, is a turn-off.

Put it on eBay with a starting price of $1, a reserve price of $2500, and see where it goes. You lose nothing but a listing fee on eBay. Then, the market decides where you go with it!

$2500 seems about right. I am in Toronto and tried to sell recently my 98 S420 with 290k on it and got fed up after 2 months. Every non english speaking immigrant is going to call you about the car.

Make sure you freshen up the car, get it detailed, take pictures...and post it on Kijiji. I say start at $3,275. Why? because it's in the $3000 zone and it's not round. It's better than sub $3000, then people will think you are trying to dump them a problem car...price it so it is a little higher than the low ones but not higher than the high ones. Go for the middle of the pack....and don't go for round numbers...
