Hi Guys!

I´m having some problems on decide wich pad # should I use on my 230K.

I bought this car used, and it comes with #5 on front suspension and with #2 on the rear.
Does anyone knows wich is the standard fitting?
I'm using 18" AMG III with 225/40-F and 255/35-R.
I want to bring it down, but I'm afraid that the car is not with the right angle.

Can any one help me with this?:surrender:

I believe these are the are the part numbers and heights for spring pads:

Front(W210 part number) :
210 321 01 84 pad#1 5 mm
210 321 02 84 pad#2 9 mm
210 321 03 84 pad#3 13 mm
210 321 04 84 pad#4 17 mm
210 321 05 84 pad#5 21 mm

Rear(W210 part number) :
210 325 01 84 pad#1 5 mm
210 325 02 84 pad#2 9 mm
210 325 03 84 pad#3 13 mm
210 325 04 84 pad#4 17 mm

Hi Mate,

I have the exact same car as you CLK 230K and I too had number #5 pad in front and no#2 pad in the rear when it was stock. I am guessing but I think you have the elegance modle? as I know that some of the CLK 230K come with no#5 front and no#4 rear like the avantguarde.

I also have the same wheel set up as you with a staggered set of 18" and same tyre sizes, so I should be able to help you a little.
If you are not going to lower the car, then you can afford to go as low as no#1 pad front and no#1 rear, but I know what your thinking because at the moment you have #5 up front so therefore if you go to no#1 then the back will too high even if you go with the lowest pad, correct?
Therefore to keep the same aspect, you could do one of the following:

- Go with no#4 front and no#1 rear.
- The second option is to go with no#3 front and zero pads in the rear.
- The third option would be to lower the car.

I used the Eibach Pro Kit which brought the car down by 30mm and I then put a no#1 pad in the front and after a lot of swapping I went with zero pads in the back, my drop is perfect and even for me. Not too slammed and still retaining the Merc ride comfort even with a full car, and it clears the speed bumps too!
I also added a rear 15mm spacer to kick the back and give it a more flush look.

Good luck my friend !

Thanks a lot for your message, and I'm sorry that I took so long to answer you
I Was waiting for MB original settings for my car. The model is AVANGARD, and acording to Mercedes Settings it should use a #2 Pad in the front.
I think I'm going to zero Pads on the rear and #1 on the front. Because I'm using Staghered Wheels, the rear went up about 15mm, I believe it will be a good setting. Maybe later I'll change the springs to get Him plus 30mm down...
Thanks, I'm waiting for the experts opinion:thumbsup:

No problem good luck and hope you get your ride right. As you are going down a few mm in the front it might be worth checking the front alignmnet in case of tyre wear, but I think the back will be fine as the drop is not enough to get out of camber spec.
