Yes, but did not work at all........still stumped with this.
I have a similar problem with my R350. I had a leak on the air shock on the front passenger. I replaced it with a new one ($1100) but the car always seem to be an 1-1/2" lower on the passenger than the driver's side. I tried unplugging the battery, raising and lowering it on a level street and nothing. It rarely seems to adjust, even when I am on the freeway going at 80 (the car drops when going over 75 mph). I dont get any errors, except for the ESP in the morning, which I never used to get before. When the ESP warning goes on, the car begins to get a bit sluggish and unresponsive. I turn it off, and it is fine. I don't know how to level both sides, and do not want to go to the dealer for obvious reasons. Anyone?I think you can use the instructions about the mm = amount of drop and put them in the ball park, adjust them before you put them on. then drive the car and see what you get, then adjust each one more. Mine are equal side to side and the car is perfect.
I believe you'll just have to fake-out the suspension control by alterning the mechanical linkage between the control arm and the sensor, or you'll have to follow the factory procedure of calibrating with Star Diagnosis.I don't know how to level both sides, and do not want to go to the dealer for obvious reasons.
I bent the front and rear brackets on my CLS500 trying to lower it, but it backfired, and now the car is higher on the driver side than the passenger. I tried putting it back, resetting ecu, and everything else, but nothing. It is still tilted. I finally took it to get it leveled to a MB shop (not the dealership) for $200. That fixed the problem. It even fixed my esp light that would come on when I first started the car and drove between 50 and 60 mph. The mechanic told me he could actually lower the vehicle with the STAR program. You could actually manually adjust each link by measuring the clearance of each tire and the wheelwell, but the ride won't work the way it's supposed to work. Bigger wheels can tell the CANBUS a wrong reading, but does not make a big difference. Hope this helps...I have a problem which I hope someone can quickly resolve.
I recently purchased Adjustable Air Ride links, and installed them this past weekend.
The fronts took some time to acquire the same ride height (the instructions stated to make both links the same length before installing, but this did not work……one is a different length but the end result is similar.
The rears have caused me much frustration. I set both rear links to be about 5-6mm shorter (on the SL, shorter lengths in rear equals lower setting). After installing them, the passenger side was about 1” higher than the driver side rear. I tried to adjust the driver side and passenger side, but no resulting equal height. The driver side basically now does not change at all with any link adjustment. Even the stock links do not alter the height back to normal. The driver side is not unbearable low, but I cannot get the passenger side to lower to match……even with the stock links back in.
What did the AAR links do to my car?? Both sides of the rear still move 3 different levels……just not the same and I cannot get the driver side to change with any link adjustment. Is there an “ABC reset” or such?
These is a back up battery used for the suspension and other systems. You can unplug it at the same time you unplug the main battery. There is a pneumatic control module that controls the air suspension. if the suspension is not leveled properly, the esp light may flash at the beginning.I have a problem which I hope someone can quickly resolve.
