So this weekend, I went home not only to watch the SF Giants win the NL pennant but to go watch ASU vs. Cal. For those of you not familiar with the west coast, it is around a 750 mile drive from Phoenix to San Francisco. I checked the tire pressure got a quart of oil just in case and gassed up. Going there i obtained 27 mpg and then coming back down i got 31 mpg. Going 75 pretty much whole way in California and then 80 in Arizona. No problems with this car drove for 12 straight hours.

Best I've ever seen on the freeway was 23mpg....Cool to know high 20's IS possible. Your 103 must be running great!

Must have been a sweet trip in the w124. I just love cruising...

They're nice highway cruisers. My car has taken me from Los Angeles, CA to Texas and Louisiana several times and back to California and then to Toronto, Canada. This December, I'm probably gonna drive it from Toronto back to L.A.

well ps2cho, keep in mind that the 5 speed helps, with the 86 300e automatic i had got around 22-23. But with the 5 speed my rpms doing 75 are only 2600.
