It's not mine, but I was told that the 3.5 V6 in this car could have some problems.
Like what ? I think 3.5 V6 is now a bread & butter engine for most MB class , could be this was an some of first 3.5 V6 equipped on the late W203s with some bugs on board..Talk to your MB stealer about that ..

That guy rudeney was saying that this car had the balance shaft problem. Although I just found a great deal on a C230, so this car might be ruled out.

Yep, many early MBZ "350" models that use the M272 engine can have bad balance shaft issues (do a search in the forum, or even Google "Mercedes Balance Shaft" and you'll find out all about it). Basically, the main drive gear for the timing chain is made of material that is soft and wears prematurely. It requires pulling the engine and breaking it down to repair - $4K++

Yeah I looked up for the Engine Serial Number and found that this one has been affected, seems to be that particularly only 2006 models have been affected.

FYI, you can't got by model year, but yes, it seems that most 2005, 2006 and many 2007 M272 and M273 engines were affected. The only way to know for sure is by engine serial number, which can be determined by plugging the VIN into EPC.
