Hello all,

I had my winter tires installed about 2 weeks ago. This morning while on a errand i noticed something very weird on my rims..

There are weights installed on the sides of each tire! In between the lip and spokes :mad:

Can anybody explains these to me?? I've had these rims since i bought the car.. they never had those weights on them, and the worked just fine, no vibration no nothing..

I'm a little annoyed at the sight of them... it won't ruin my day but its still annoying.. Are these things going to be removed when i go back to summer tires or what?? Its ruining the look of my rims..

Sorry about my cluelessness... but i thought garages are supposed to explain what the hell they're doing.. and preferably advising me on their decision to ruin the look of my wheels

Many thanks:thumbsup:

I think I know what you mean, if this is not it let me know, maybe post a pic.

They must have balanced the tires before putting them on your car, the weights can either be put on like you have or they make ones that stick on the inside of the rim so you can't see them.

Here are the pics..

The first is how the rim looked before,

This one is to show where they installed the new weights (illustrated by the red highlights)

Tell me these can be removed without leaving any scrufs or scratches on the rim?? And be replace the way it was meant to be??

...I seriously understand why people like Drew WONT hand their cars to mechanics.. seriously. Only time i visit a mechanic this year for a tire change and they manage to piss me off.. speechless.

I am not sure if they will leave a mark if taken off, but they are "clipped" to the rim right?

Not to get off topic, but what wheels are they? Any photos of the whole car?

I'm not sure how they are attached.. hehe if you haven't noticed it i'm totally clueless on car work... i just know how to drive them and swap the interiors and grills lol.

No worries on the OT, the wheels are 15" Ronal's
Over 1000 pics of the car lol, let me know if you need more :D:thumbsup:

....if my rims are damaged due to that stupid weight installation i'm going to throw one of these fits:
notice what he does with the remote control..lmao

take a pic of what you are actually talking about please, it would help. clamp on weights do the most damage.
