I have a problem with my a/c clutch not engaging. I put a pound of R-12 in, and it still wouldnt engage. I found some wiring going to the compressor clutch that did not carry any voltage and wiring was melted. The rest of the system wiring looked fine and carried about 11 volts. Is there a a/c relay that could be fried, and if there is where would I find it. Thanks

Anthony, I'm going on memory because my 240D is off the road for summer - but if I remember rightly there is a relay in front of the fusebox (amongst a few other relays). I have also had a situation where the wiring has melted on a Benz previously - just take a good look along and make sure it's not shorting somewhere or broken elsewhere.
