I have a E300TD. It had been sitting covered for several years. The engine would crank but would not start. Ever heard of all six glow plugs going bad at once. Anyway, the car will start now but it has a P0702 code, TCM issue. Using a scanner with a 38 pin adaptor, I checked the TCM. I get a Component N15/3(ETC[EGS] control module) is defective. Anybody know what this is? What I have seen online is, oil leaking into the TCM. The TCM on this car is in the box with the ECU. does it mean oil leaking around the conductor plate adapter. No oil leaking on the driveway. Any insight is much appreciated.

The P0702 could be that the the solenoid voltage supply is bad. The solenoids on the conductor plate are powered by the power source on the TCM. Sometimes the power source gets defective due to component failures over time. In some cases, there could be a short or open on the wiring to the transmission, or on the conductor plate.

I have a schematic diagram of the conductor plate. I was able to check continuity on the solenoids, all were good. I will check the voltage output of the TCM as per that diagram.
Thanks.
