ok, the central locking system is on the fritz again on my boss' 98 ML320. so he decides to pull all fuses one by one and check and replace. that didn't fix it, so he then tries to start it and it won't start. all fuses are correct. the tach moves so it's not the CPS, i can hear the fuel pump prime. it cranks, but doesn't turn over. i'm thinking he tripped the a theft device, but i don't know. any help is much appreciated!

It could be a myriad of things. It still could be the Crank Position Sensor. It could also be the AAM (Drive Authorization system is integrated in the All Activity Module) or a couple of other things. I'd try a battery disconnect for 15 minutes, then try again. FYI, the tachometer does not move on either of my ML's until they crank up. Go figure.

My money is on a bad CPS. If the CPS has never been replaced in your truck I would replace it. My 2 cents.
