'98 230 SLK 17'' Replica Wheels LOOKS LIKE MERCEDES REAL RIMS! Pics
These wheels are 17'', made by company calls "REPLICA", 500E model. I bought wheels and tires from Discount Tire Co., which has multiple other styles. The center caps bought from Benz steelership. Each center cap cost me about $15, and they perfectly snapped into the center of each rim. This center caps, make your wheels look like Benz REAL wheels. Dealer recommends 17'' wheels for '98 SLK 230, because it meets the standard performance on the road. The wheels and tires with the center caps cost me $1,100, which is not bad. The log nuts that where original on the car holding the original Mercedes wheels whore little long, so Discount Tire Co. personal ordered me shorter log nuts, one on each wheel with a lock bolt. This bolts feats perfectly without touching brakes when the wheel spins. The reason for the original log bolts where to long, is because the wall on the rim itself was little thicker than on Replica wheels. Also, noticed, that Replica made a perfect copy of the wheel; it has 5 small wholes they are for the balancing adjustment at Benz steelership.
I have noteced one minor problem, once you hit a deep gap on the road the front tire, on the passangers side, touches the fender cover a bit.
I am open to suggestions they are welcome here. Let me know what needs to be done to correct this minor issue.
