I am thinking of updating my 87 560sel to a 97 s420(i will probably still keep the 560sel though)Does anyone have any opinions? Is the s420 a good car? How is it compared to the 560? My main reason for wanting to update is that my 560 now has 170,000 miles---is still a good car, and has been maintained well-but I feel maybe it would be better suited as a spare car. i am concerned about taking the 560 on long trips, and it starting to nickel and dime me quite a bit. Any thoughts?

I say atleast get a 97 S500. Remember... your 560 SEL for the time was the cream of the crop, best of the best with 238 hp! An S420 weighs a hell of a lot more with only 275 hp. With the 500 your atleast up to 315 hp. But, if you want to travel alot and save fuel money, an S420 might hit the spot, or better yet, an S320. Then again if your used to being a german hot rod, the S500 or S600 is your vehicle!
