Whats going on guys and gals..its been a long time since I have been on. Life can be a pain! Well let me jump right into it...

I just got my S600 coupe back from getting rear struts and accumulators replaces. The bumping and knocking while driving slow is gone! good job. BUT, when I'm making turns, I can here like thumping in the rear. Like someone opening a really old door slow.

Is there something else I might need to replace?

sounds like a loose sway bar mount? check the rubber bushings and replace them if there falling apart.

These cars have a 5-link (per side) rear suspension.

Verify ALL the links are in good shape with a prying tool and tight.

yep that is one of your coil springs check shims on etc

I once had a real awful sound in the back when i would go over bumps and make quick turns..it was actually the muffler support loosened up..did you check that?

I woulda sworn it was a strut or axel issue but i was wrong..and once i got that in my head i convinced myself the car was riding rougher when it really wasnt...noise plays a big minds games sometimes

Thanks for the replies! I've been pricing out the link suspension parts(sway bar links, bushings, mounts) already. Luckily, they are not that expensive.

Ghost you are right....noise definitely plays on the mindset. I will check the muffler out too. Needless to say I have spent major dough into my projects(98 CL500/96' S 600) Progress is slow and sometimes I feel like just selling them. But I find the spirit to keep going. Problem is, I dont know if my budget can find the spirit to keep going! lol

Take a look at subframe mounts as well...
