My car have 174000 miles on it. I did the head gasket job on it not too long ago and now i am noticing the slip on first gear, the fluid is not low. When i pressed the gas pedal when the car is on drive i could hear the engine rev up before the car move a little bit, there is no noise in the transmission beside that all the gears work fine. I did 80 mph on the high way with no problem only first gear is slipping all the time. I was wondering if i could fix it myself, because i did the head cylinder on my own. I took it to aamco and they told me it's an internal problem and quote me $1600
