I am looking to purchase an used 500 SL for my wife and me for Christmas. I do have limited funds for this purchase. But, I found a 94 500SL in good condition for $15000. My concern is that it has 150K miles. I do not have alot of experience with MB, I do know of their reputation of lasting forever. But, this mileage does scare me a little bit. The car seems to run just fine and everything feels tight. Should I wait for something with fewer miles? Or, might this be worth the investment?

Also, what flaws should I look for?

Patience is a virtue . . .

Although 15k mi/ year certainly isn't awful, it seems like a good- not great price. With excellent service records I'd suggest a sign-off by a certified mechanic. . and respectfully suggest that a better opportunity may be worth waiting for. Certainly, MB's tend to wear better than most with regular service, but face it whether "freeway miles" or the Canonball Run, the miles eventually take their toll.
Heck - - the hunt is half the fun ! Come on out to Arizona and drive one home !
