Hello,

I was just peering under my recently acquired '93 400E and something doesn't seem right. the exaust system forward of the rear muffler and aft of the down pipes just doesn look right. There only appears to be on cat, and there is a really nastily welded U junction towards the front that connects the two down pipes to a single pipe heading aft. I know that the car had some exhaust work done about 2 years ago according to the receipts. The car runs, sounds, and performs fine.

Does anyone have any, or know where to find any pics of the underside of a V8 W124 showing a stock exhaust?

Also, while I'm thinking about it. Does anyone have any recommendations for "bolt in" performance, or upgraded exhausts?

Thanks,

Aaron

The exhaust set up on the 93 should be pretty much identical to the system on your 95. No such thing as bolt on performace exhaust.

Good Luck,

I figured as much, however, I didn't spend too much time on the '95's exhaust system to really familiarize myself with it. I know there's no bolt on... It there any common setup that others have used with success? What brand of products, etc. Don't mind spending a bit of money, but don't want to go broke either!

Specifically, shoudl there be twin pipes leading to twin cats with twin pipes (again) leading to the muffler?

Anyone have any good used exhausts they'd be willing to part with for a reasonable fee?

Thanks again,

Aaron

You don't own the 95 anymore or don't feel like getting under it??

Any way, here's the pic.

I don't own the '95 anymore. It was totaled when a garbage truck lost control on some ice and literally crushed the car against a tree. Luckily I wasn't in it - it was parked at the time.

This helps enormously!

Thanks!
