Good morning. I'm looking at a 1991 500SL with 84,000 miles.

When fully warmed up, the oil pressure indicator arm is on the 2. When the motor is cold or when driving, it's on the 3.

Is a warmed up 500SL oil pressure guage on the 2 ok?

it depends on the oil viscousity that you're using. if you use light oil, and the engine is hot in stop and go traffic, a drop to 0 is acceptable while idling at a traffic light, as long the pressure goes up as soon as you step on the gas pedal.

For Sale: 1991 MERCEDES-BENZ 500 " CONSIGNMENT SOLD " at FORT MYERS WHOLESALE AUTOS

Here's a link to the car that I'm looking at. What do you guys think?

I ran the carfax and then called the service garage that was listed quite a bit. They said that they have serviced the car since 2,052 miles. All major services performed, 5K oil changes, timing chain done at 72K and in July all 10 hydraulic pistons replaced. Sounds like a good car.

Looks clean and well taken care of, the speedo is not original, but replaced with digital unit due to Mercedes's recall/service campaign with flickering speedo, suggesting a PO that followed up on service issues and recalls.

The rims are not original, but from 1993-1996 model, but these are better looking than 1991 ones anyway...

good luck...
