90 300SE High Speed Climate Fan not working

hello all
For the past year the high speed fan does not work in my 1990 300SE.
I thought it was the climate control unit, I just replaced it with a know good one and the high speed fan still does not work.
The blower motor was just replaced. I heard it could be some type of control box that is mounted near the wiper linkage? Also could it be the porcupine heatsink thing that is mounted near the blower motor?

Is there no high speed auto or high speed ‘manual override’?

…or both?

Both, neither auto or the high speed switch works on high. Also the defoster is not high speed
