Just swapped out to a new bottle and it is leaking where the level sensor is located. I did reuse the metal clip if that matters. What are your ideas? Thank you.

Correct, no rubber grommetIs there no rubber grommet where the sensor fits in the tank? My '79 450 does not have a level sensor, which is why I'm asking.
What kind of silicone?Plan B, for.me, would be diligent surface prep, silicone, & 24hr cure time.
No rubber grommet but there is supposed to be an O ring A0129970348. I recommend you consider purchasing the whole sensor. They wear out.,A1245400244, comes with the o ring.Correct, no rubber grommet
