I have an 87 300 turbo which keeps loosing power on the freeway. It seems fine at surface street speeds but will then loose power and almost stall on up hill. It also has a slight miss at idle.

I recently changed the fuel filters thinking they were partly clogged, but that did not solve the prob. The car is also converted to run on Veggi oil, bio diesel or straight diesel. It will barely run on veg oil now.

Does anyone have suggestions what it might be, where to look and how to fix? Also looking for a recommendation for an honest, competent and affordable mechanic in the San Diego area.

Thanks
Biker Milke

You're suffering from fuel starvation, and it may be originating back in the tank. You'll need to pull the tank strainer and see if it's clogged, and determine if the vent check valve is working properly.
