I was recently given a 1986 300E with 129k miles. The car has been well maintained and except for some small cosmetic issues is in good order.
At the moment I am unable to get it to start up, I am getting the engine to turn over without any issues but it won't run for more then a few seconds at a time. The car was used over the past several months and ran fine.
I checked the air filter, spark plugs and gas line(s), all seem to be in fine operating order.
Any thoughts on what might be wrong?
Thanks.

Tyberios,
I had a similar problem with my 89 300E, I initially thought it was my fuel filter and pumps. I started with the filter, it was clogged, but didnt correct the problem. I checked the pumps, and they were working fine. So then I though maybe the fuel pump relay, and sure enough, it was the relay. It was not making good contact anymore, and It wouldnt start anymore, and sometimes would stall while driving. I bought a new relay and problem was fixed. Not saying that's your fix, but just some food for thought.
