Hello! I've searched for an answer for this problem, but have been unable to find a good explanation/fix for it. On cold start my '84 300sd starts w/o any problems, the idle is not rough, just too low and of course the engine dies. After just a short warm up it goes back to normal idle. Just last month I changed all the fuel filters (as well as an oil change and air filter change). Any ideas? Another issue: Today when I turned the engine off it ran for another 5 seconds...is my shut off solenoid going bad? Thanks and any answers!

mine was hard to start (85 sd) and really ran rough, found 3 bad glow plugs. replaced them now it fires right up and runs smooth . Diesel Giant has a good piece on how to check for problems and replace
