You've got a short somewhere. Maybe the switch is kaput also-maybe not. Best to locate the short then go from there.I wouldn't muck around with a bypass- fix what you have.
Just went through that......had to replace the window motor. Not a bad job...remove the window panel and there you are...3 bolts on the motor. Also easy to troubleshoot
