1982 280TE, imported around '84 & owned by the same people until I bought it. I have pics as-imported with full AMG bodykit and matching roof boxes. Not perfect by any means, but runs well & reliable. Needs some work but a fun and unique 123. 5-speed manual, Euro heater controls, Bosch ABS, tachometer, outside air temp gauge, AMG steering wheel, unique smooth leather interior including door panels and headliner. Had headlamp leveling, no longer intact but switch is there. No sunroof. Paint all original except for left front fender which was resprayed years ago after a parking lot incident. Hood and roof paint clearcoat peeling. Dents in rear hatch, second hatch included but a good dent repair guy could probably improve the hatch quite a bit. Color-matched BBS/Mahle 15" wheels. I've coveted this car locally for years and am glad I snagged it, but I just can't keep it as I'm out of time and space. I really want to pass it to someone who will do it justice. Must sell soon, trying to buy a house and I already have too many other old German cars! I have lots more pics, but they're on another computer so please email for more! Asking $2500.

Thanks,

Tucker

Do you know the total milage?
The import paperwork should list the Km at the time of import.

You say "Needs some work". What's it need beside the paint items you mention?

Thx -CTH

Hey guys, the VIN is WDB12309310011013. The odo broke at 158k well before I bought it, the previous owners estimated around 180k. I have a new drive gear, not installed yet. As far as work needed, it could use a suspension rebuild and shocks up front, subframe bushings in back, and has some oil leaks. The CIS is in good tune (it wasn't when I got it), it passes smog easily, runs hard to redline and doesn't smoke. I wouldn't hesistate to drive it anywhere as it sits. Must sell ASAP guys, open to offers. Thanks!

Check ebay - there's a white on black 280TE 5-spd on there now that needs a home. First time on ebay he put it at $4000 and got no offers, now he's asking $3500. He's in Cali too.

Also, with the economy in the crapper, he might want to sell it, but he's in Penn or something like that.

Familiar with the white 280te on ebay, kinda neat but a little mixed up and unfortunately white.

Let me know if you here from Merc.. Though not 040, it's palatable.

And now it's mine...

This 280TE 5-speed is now in Brooklyn, NY being pressed into daily-driver use as I finish restoring a 300TD.
