Nightmare to start in cold weather...not sure why.

Fine if plugged in.

Today was our first 30s day and I had to get AAA to jump me.

I ordered them from the Mercedes Source.
As the other member siad check your Glow PLugs. Diesel Giant has a good pictorial on one way to check them.
You will need a Volt/Ohm Meter; but, Harbor Freight sells inexpensive ones for $6 or less when on sale.

Autohausaz.com sells the Bosch Glow Plugs for $8.64 each.

Beru Glow Plugs are another choice but cost more and are harder to find.

When ever the Glow Plugs are out of their holes you should clean the holes out with Glow Plug Reamer (or some alternative method).
Carbon around the Glow Plug causes the heat to be conducted into the Cylinder Head and Coolant instead of heating up the Air in the Precombustion Chamber.
A few people have said that after cleaning the Glow Plug Holes they started easier.

Glow Plug reaming discussed and shows mine as well as other home made
