I Changed engine oil and transmission fluid (including torque converter ); today. I don't have the manual and i think i added too much. Anyways, it will be great if someone can tell me how much oil and ATF should be added on 77 240d (auto trans).
I also replaced the injectors today and noticed there was no heat shields, with na33x injectors; i think 77 models didn't included them but i added 10mm heat shield, anyways.
Also, i put in new glow plugs, as well. I am seeing white smoke after doing all this, is this normal or did i do something wrong (will it go away, i also did a diesel purge and add atf in the spin on fuel filter)

Adding ATF in the fuel filter will make it smoke white. Have you tried filling the dip stick and mistakenly let a drop of ATF touch the exhaust manifold? It's going to make a lot of white smoke.
I thought 240d will have less oil since its 4 cylinder but both oil and ATF are same regardless of engine size.
I did not have the correct funnel, so i sure drop allot of aft while filling. (what's worse the ATF pan gasket kept leaking quite a bit took me 2-3 times to finally get it to stop)?
And i though adding the ATF might also cause the white smoke, will it go away?

My 240D takes less oil than my 300D did. Almost 1.5 quarts less in fact.

I would think the smoke shouldn't last long at all if you only put ATF in the filter.
