I don't know if any of you guys are cartalk addicts like I am, but I missed the show this week and just started listening to it on cartalk.com.

Right in the beginning of the show the first caller called regarding her '75 240D, in case any of you are interested.

Can you listen to it on line?

Wow I'll give it a try - I'm a European car talk fan!

It's the most recent episode, aired on 8 October. It was a pretty short call... the girl wanted to know if she could just keep driving without the AC compressor belt, which had completely gone.

Seriously.

I am a judgmental prick when it comes to vehicles... if you're 19 and driving a 2010 C300 with riced-out aftermarket wheels, you are a douche bag. If you're 19 and driving a 240/300D, well... you are probably a fine upstanding future pillar of society that just gets it and I've already drawn the conclusion that you will not suck at life.

Me too! I'm a car talk addict as well, but Tom and Ray don't seem to be too crazy about the old Benzes. Not so much in this call but in others they just don't seem to like them. Other than that, I'm perfectly willing to squander another perfectly good hour every Saturday morning, unencumbered by the thought process!

because they don't break enough, and when someone goes on about calling about their ranger pick up with 240k miles and we chime in going my cars got 480k... it sort of makes them look bad. :)

Either that or a tofu junkie with a hyphenated last name, who sees herself as just a bit too awesome to drive a Volvo.

I'm 21 and I drive a Wrangler of which I'm the original owner and my 84 Euro 500SE

But I don't like tofu, and I'm not a she either. And come on, Volvo's are boxy but good.
