Just getting ready to do my first transmission service on a C350 4M. While I was under the car I noticed that there was leakage from the rear of the transmission. I went ahead and ordered the new seal which was very reasonable from the dealer. (who would have thought??) It looks like there is enough room to just unbolt the drive shaft from flange and lower it out of the way and un-do the nut that holds the flange to the output shaft. Then its just an R&R on the seal and put everything back together.

Am I correct on this?? I was hoping that someone here has done one before and it really is as easy as it looks.

P.S. The car is just out of warranty or I would have had the dealer do it.

Thanks Domm, but after reading all 38 pages of the link you sent, there isnt any mention of what I'm intending to do. I want to know about changing the rear seal at the output shaft.
