There is a 560SEL at an impound/salvage auction and would really rather not shoot myself in the foot over bidding. How much is too much? It's a 1990 with 152,662 miles on the clock.

^ 13 Mercedes if I do win the bid. $4000 is about roughly what I was thinking at this moment. If they start it and it runs well,I may go up to $5000.

NADA quotes $6300 low retail and $9150 high retail.

Thanks MBZER and Morpheus for the feedback but I've shifted my sights to this non auction 98 C230 with a little damage at a very sweet price with only 44K miles.
