Hello, I have a beautiful 1991 560 SEL, 123,000 original miles. One morning recently, I got in the car, started it, and after warming up turned on the defrost. I immediately smelled something burning and the fan stopped. After shutting off the car, I opened the hood and checked the fuses (including the bar fuse in front of the master cyl) all good. Yesterday, I removed and checked the fan and the resistor, I also removed the CCU and cleaned and resoldered the connections. Still no fan. Does anyone have a clue what else I could check?

You said you checked the fan, did it work?

It is probably the blower fan.
