Wondering if it's just me, but they don't seem to fit the valve cover very well. Nearly impossible to get installed correctly. I've ordered a proper set and hope they fit better....

Fel-Pro has a bad reputation, along the lines of Uro.

Victor Reinz is better.

Elring is better still.

Of course, safest to go with the real MB part, which is often made by Elring, but may not be identical to the Elring-branded part.

On a job where the parts are much cheaper than the labor, it makes sense to get the most durable parts possible, to avoid doing the job again.

Amazon has Elring at a good price. Just got a set last week.

The right is $13, the left is $8. Don't ask. :)
Why ? :| I mean why can't I ask :grin

Autohausaz has Elring for $5.62 each (L & R) and MB for $15.84 and $14.40, L and R respectively. I've got a set of genuine gaskets I'm going to put on when I get a chance; I've had a couple sets over the years, I think VictorReinz, and always had some issues with leaks. Could be from not torquing it enough (I don't have the right torque wrench and am paranoid of over-torquing), but if I'm doing it, the $20 price difference doesn't seem worth it to me.

Fel-Pro, I think, used to be a reputable brand, but I have had trouble with them. The biggest issue was on my old Fairlane: less than a year after I replaced the intake, using Fel-Pro gaskets, they shrunk and tore apart in several spots. That caused some serious vacuum leaks. I think I used Edelbrock gaskets after that, but whatever I used has held up fine to this day.
