560 Euro Headers?

1317 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Teutone
Correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like allot you guys wish you had euro headers, why is that?

I am going to change my headers, so if anyone wants them be sure to let me know. The headers are of course fine. Maybe we could make a little trade? I really want front door speakers, so if anyone got panels i would be interested. I also want those dash shelfs or what i should call them, that some of the newer W126 have.

Well, I think, why we like them is this:

True AMG Tri-Y headers are pretty much the "holy grail" of headers for the w126 bodied V8 cars, and are as rare as unobtanium.

Despite this, a few of us have managed to get them, though in my case they were not new, and needed refurbishing; this included (inter alia) jet coating, prep work, painting and install, and other things far beyond my abilities.

However, when they get hooked up professionally, the difference in "inhaling" is dramatic, and really worth it. The hp gain is very real, and the feel is really visceral, when you nail the gas pedal hard and the car surges forward with a mighty roar that is muted by your resonator (if you kept it on the car) and the muffler.

Gas mileage, what's THAT:confused:
Tri-y's are of course different than regular Euro logs... Regardless they breathe better than NA spec. And I believe you're talking about the "oddments/coin trays" under the dash? There has been a lot of talk of putting them into gen 1 cars... but I haven't seen anyone actually doing it. Recently Solid Snake mentioned wanting to get rid of his and I believe Chadahar pointed out that one would at least need the driver's side under-dash panel from a gen 1 if he wanted to switch to the gen 1 style, so I assume it's the same for adding them.
Do you have just a carpeted panel on the drivers side under the steering wheel? If it's grey, I'm your guy to get the under dash tray

$4.29 for premium here. More or less.

Look at your headers - do you have the "logs" (1 piece) or the "tri-y's" (2 piece) per side?

Wow, that's higher than Germany. I had assumed gasoline in oil producing Norway would be cheaper than the rest of Europe.

Believe me, everybody here thinks that gasoline should be cheaper.
Premium here is about 13$ But then again Premium is 98 octane, and normal is 95.

Norway have ALOT of taxes. A new Chevy Suburban costs 400.000usd, and that's not bullshit.
Sad really, i want a big American car :-(
Check 48hp aka Henriks exhaust system post.
The exhaust system with TRY-Y headers Dino gain was 29 compared to the restrictive US stock.
In US cars pass side manifold goes in a crossover pipe (behind engine) to drivers side manifold and into a single down pipe.
The 'Welcome.....' announcement on top will show how to search the forum archive.
Cheers
