Hi All, I am prepping a 560 air dam to fit a 73 with the banana turn signals. Anyone have a picture of that done? I am not thrilled about my fit so far. The dam fits well, but doesn't interface well with the lights. Perhaps someone has pics of how the sides line up with the bumper bracket hole. Here is my fit so far including the notch.

I think you are right. I wanted to make sure my height in comparison to the bumper bracket hole is about correct. I'm about a 1/8" below. I basically followed the arc on the air dam to remove the ribs in that area. Its almost like the lights are too far towards the outside. I can move them onboard slightly. Not sure about all that. Not 100% sure I will use it in the final analysis, since its not period correct.

You can see how much the 560 spoiler reduces the front opening. You certainly do need move the bananas inwards. as modifying the spoiler in any way will not look good. With a small dremmel you should be able to shorten the ribs a bit.

I put a 560 spoiler on my 1977 European conversion 450SL, got rid of the square turn signal lamps and wired them to the orange corner lenses. In addition I wired the standing lamps to the main headlamps’ housing that has a small light bulb for this purpose. I feel the car looks cleaner and genuinely European.

Thanks for posting those pics. That is sharper than hell. I think I lost the "must have" for the banana lights. Are those 16" Bundts? They seem to fill the wheel well better. As far as your air dam goes, does it have all the fins up inside the dark area? I cut some of mine already, but could graft them back in. I can't tell from your pics! Great looking 73. Hope mine looks that nice when it's done after all this time, work and money!

The wheels are the stock Bundt 14”, and the front spoiler I just grafted into the car with no modifications. Fitted right in, black fins and all.

My car has the original 14” Bundt wheels and the spoiler fitted right in, black fins and all, no modifications were necessary. Good luck and success with your project!

I have a set of 14 polished bundts. Guess I will have to give em a try when I get it reassembled!
