Is anyone making test pipes to delete all of the cats off of the r129 500sl? I'm interested in a resonator delete as well but the only resonator bypass I could find was the oem amg one which is very rare and expensive. Thanks.

To help you out a bit. I've done extensive exhaust work on every car I've ever owned. Here is what I have learned.

If they don't make an off the shelf part for what you're wanting, any exhaust shop worth half its salt will be able to custom make it.

For instance you want test pipes. Say they do not exist off the shelf. Your local exhaust shop can cut off your existing cats, and simply weld in straight pipe in their place and viola, you now have "test pipes".

Same goes for the resonator delete.

You essentially are going for a full straight pipe exhaust.

When getting exhaust work done, shop around. One place will charge 250 for what your looking to get done, another 350, and one 175. Pit them against eachother with the "well I'm already here and shopping around any chance you can beat $XXX.XX dollars?" and usually they'll bend a bit to keep you there.

Hopefully this guides you to the best possible end result.
