Wow. So, how many "E 60" cars worldwide / in the US ? What would be the main difference between 500e and the E60 ?
22802 for 400E /E420

10479 for 500E /E500 including the few E60 cars.

Only 126 E60s ever produced???

1994 Mercedes-Benz E60 AMG | German Cars For Sale Blog

"While not offered in the US, buyers elsewhere could specify Code 957, the AMG Technik package, turning your base E500 into an E60 AMG. This tuned sedan featured the M119 V8, modified with a longer throw crankshaft, a 10:1 compression ratio, higher lift intake and exhaust valves and a less restrictive exhaust. This all added up to 376 horsepower and 428 lb ft of torque, with 60 mph attainable from a standstill in 5.2 seconds and a top speed of 175 mph."

W124 E60's were not officially imported to USA, although there is at least one which was imported from Europe to USA. Chances of finding one for sale in USA are between zero and zilch. They will set you back $40k-$100k over in Europe at the moment.

I thought there were like 12 AMG E60's worldwide that have the German VIN code to prove it....everything else was done outside the factory.

The 12 number was attributed to E60 Limiteds, and this was the common belief for many, many years. Only recently has it been proved false. There are 126 E60's (option code 957 in datacard), and of those 40-something are Limiteds (option code 957+958 in datacard). The Limiteds were also not officially imported to USA, long-standing claims were only 500 built, but again recent data proves there were 900+ Limiteds.

You looking to buy a 036 Kevin ?
Been lookin' for yrs. Every time I get anywhere near the coin to invest in one, some ugly calamity rears its head. Probably not meant to be. When I was younger, I bought a lot of dream cars....so it's not like I'm without memories.

I can say that 50 for the US car wont buy it.
The good news is the Euro is dropping making the purchase a little more palatable.
But then you have to Federalize it.... $$$$$

Very true, I did grey market cars back in the mid 80's.

Ron, your PM box is full, let me know about the wide body wire set.

Figure to put another $7,000 just for the mechanical needs....just to hedge your bet. The paint and body work you can do later while just driving/hammering the car...it should have at least a tranny rebuild by now. That's why I say set aside at least $7,000 to make her run right again. It's still a deal, because $15,000 is the usual bottom end of a 'runner' that needs some TLC.

Nice but pushing the limit for pricing. I'd put the price at $30,000 to $35,000 tops.
