That is NOT Anthracite paint. That is Pearl Black (code 199). Anthracite Gray is a completely different color (code 172).
Dave how could you forget 040 Black ???The 500E was originally not supposed to be offered in any non-metallic colors. Apparently some people were able to special-order them though, as a handful of them did sneak out of the factory in white, Signal Red, Imperial Red, Pajett Red, Midnight Blue, and probably another couple non-metallic colors. There are very few of them, but they do exist...
Oops, my bad. The Pearl Black name slipped my mind when I posted. Also, sorry for posting a repeat!
For some reason, I love the outrageous lipstick-red leather interiors of some of those mid-80s BMWs. However, the first car I owned was a red 1980 VW rabbit with red vinyl seats, red carpet, red steering wheel, red fisher-price-like plastic dashboard, red everything, and it was absolutely repulsive!I had a silver car with red interior once...back in the day those were pimp combinations for cars.
Ha, my first watercooled car was an '80 Rabbit diesel, with that gawdawful brothel red everything interior. The only things redeeming about the car were that it was free, got 40mpg and that it racked up 275k when it finally died. However, the first car I owned was a red 1980 VW rabbit with red vinyl seats, red carpet, red steering wheel, red fisher-price-like plastic dashboard, red everything, and it was absolutely repulsive!
That's the average price for a 500E.
