And when you are on the Road some shops try and take advandage of you $40.00 for inserts because working on dry glass the rubber broke apart. This was in Birmingham Al. Why do they do that just because you are from out of town.

Probably because you are driving a Benz. . . they probably thought that $40 would be like pocket change to you [8D]

The same thing happened on my 300SE. It took 3 visits to a specialist before they found the problem. They had changed the wiper relay and the wiper stalk to no avail. Eventually they told me that the cause was the failure of an 'obscure relay' and replaced it. I think that they contacted the Mercedes Main dealers to get this information. They said that it was an 'undocumented' relay connected to wiper operation!!!
Anyway - I'd recomend a trip to a Mercedes dealer.
