wdba123190 (Matt) has got me thinking: Would a 4spd. from a '82 240D bolt up to the 5cyl?
Also, does anyone know what the 4spd. might be worth? To my knowledge they are pretty rare, correct?

4spd.

Not to sound like I'm answering my own question, but I just heard from a guy who took a 240 4spd, dropped an 83 turbo motor into it and swapped out the rear end with a 85 turbo rear. He claims he can get 29mpg @ 95mph on the highway. Anyway, anything seems easier than coming up with a 5spd manual tranny. From my research to date you'd have to start digging through old ladies barns back in the homeland to find one.
I am however still looking for any info I can get on the subject. Calling all cars (motorheads) etc.
