I have a '76 450SL I suspect has had a differential change. The speedometer is off [like 39mph reading=49mph, etc.] Got a 58 in a 40 ticket reduced to defective equipment by checking with a GPS, but would like to fix it if possible. Where is the drive gear and what's it take to change one? Any suggestions appreciated.

Could be as simple as the wrong rims and/or tires. What size tires are on the car?
