I am awaiting my order on a 430 in Orion Blue, an '02 that will be delivered this November. <br>

I am still trying to convince myself that I don't need to upgrade to the 55. <br>
<br>
I would like comments from owners of both cars, particularly the perfomance of the 430 compared to its competitors.<br>

My order is for an ash interior which is not available on the CLK 55. Either solid charcoal or charcoal two tone.<br>
<br>
Either way I know I can't lose!<br>

55 All the way

Had a 99 430. Have a 01 55. No comparison. Yes the 55 is quite a bit more, but the performance and handling on the 55 are incredible and well worth the additional dollars if you can afford it(not that they are bad on the 430!). Also, where I live, 320s and 430s are a dime a dozen but you don't see 55s very often, so the 55 is also has more panache than a standard 430 (if that matters to you). I like both cars but all I have to say is 342 HP and .91gs!!!!!!

55 and you will not regret it...

I love mine. One can even get deals now due to the sour economy. I had one on order but then bought mine with 3k miles on it off of an over extended dot.com invester. He went in with the best of intentions, including buying the 100k warranty, which easily transfers. I saved $5k, and that was back in March.<br> <br> As for my demograpic and how a CLK55 fits into a family scheme, I am 47, male, no kids, a patent lawyer, and this is my 5th MBZ (but the first with such chjones).<br> <br> The MBZ ESP is fantastic (I probably will not own another car without it or an equivalent), I can send the wife or my 67 year old mother on a grocery run without fear and they do not come back a nervious wreck. Do not try that with a Porshe or Camero.

Thank you for your comments, where I live both models quite unique. The price difference is about 10K US, I would say it is well worth it.<br> <br> I guess I know what to do.

had 430, then sold and got 55....

430 is fast and has smoother ride, but 55 is a monster. 55 handles much better, and is firm but not uncomfortable. The power is just awesome, and blows the 430 away.
