The throttle plate is the large gold tinted disk on the intake manifold that moves up and down when the accelerator is pressed, correct?
No, that's the air flow meter. The throttle is down stream from there.

In the photo of the plugs, are they in any particular order? Can you compare them to the ones in there now, cylinder by cylinder? Did you go through the firing order to verify the plug wires are correct?

I'd still pull the plugs out and look at them. The first photo of plugs you posted is not explained by the transmission cable.
