what did a search of these fourms turn up? if you have not tried yet, a search for "406* oil gearbox" then same for axle would probably help you out.

gearbox = API GL4 SAE80 gear oil.
axles (diff & portals) = API GL5 SAE90EP Hypoid gear oil.

for the gearbox i use Claas CHT80 oil witch is API GL4 ONLY

if it says API GL5 & GL4 on the tin, dont use it in your gearbox, as if it has both GL4 & GL5 API's it is for gearbox with diff units in as found in FWD cars!

thanks for that imfo on oils ,in the manual it says gearbox transmiission oil 80,axles transmission oil hypoid 90, got some advise from a new holland dealer who said use amber multi G transmission 10w 30 in the box and axles ,since its been in the portals leek and the gear box gets noisey when warm. spoke to frank atkinsons who advised me using Ep 90 in the axles and transmission oil 80 in the box will try the class cht80 oil.
new to mogs got a odd ball round cab its a 406 on the cab and chassi but its not a 900 its got a gap between the body and cab were a hiab was been told its 1100? but they didnt make a 406 1100 it should be a 416 1100?? anyway its a giggle to drive use it now and then for building work jobs wanted a square cab 1000 or 1300 but to pricey at moment thanks again john
