Looking at the wheels on the 404s, seems almost that these were set up to be used in reversal.
Anyone know if this indeed was the intent of the manner in which the implement type wheels were set up.
Would seem to be a way to increase the track under very specific circumstances...

If memory serves, yes. I think it's so when v-tred tires are mounted they can be oriented the same way for proper use in mud and easily switched so the treds are opposed front to rear to decrease road noise on pavement (and possibly wear).

Thanks, thought that might have been the case.
Will have to try it, just to see what happens to the handling.

Hi,

I am aware that 404 rims came in 2 sizes 9"x20" and 11"x20".

If the rims are reversible is the back spacing exactly half the rim width?

If not can somebody please advise the backing spacing on a standard 404 rim. I have done many searches and cannot find it.

Thanks,

Grant.
