I had an email back from the bloke a couple of days ago with some pics, that body is knackered, total rebuild needed and also a lot of parts are home made, not original by any stretch. Oh the bloke is also on the isle of white so add ferry costs to get it to the main land.

I'd be happy to take that project on. If only it were closer.

I wish this was closer as I would buy it and take off my hardcab in a second. And my cab is in perfect condition.

Is this a 404.0?

Judging by the looks, I'd bet it was a 404.1 two door soft top at some point in it's life. It might have been a soft top doka - maybe. Whoever did the job then welded on a bunch of door frames and a top from something else and came up with a 4 door truck. Look at how the cab is sagging in the middle - poor choices in structure or just plain rusted so badly it's about to fall apart. You can still see the folding windshield that no longer folds.

I would rather buy a two door soft top body tub and work from that than try to repair that pile of crap - no wonder the guy is getting rid of the body and keeping the chassis.

For the guy that asked, a 404.0 cab looks like a 406 cab, only a smaller engine hump inside.

NOT 404.0

404.0 had a modified 406 hard cab. Mounts modified, visually from outside looked the same as 406.

IMHO This one is a converted soft top like another poster suggested. Think that cause it has a folding windshield. Probably looked good at one point in time. Fairly good job wiht the roof. Yep, might have built it little too weak in the center by the way it looks now.

I concur with Aaronsb on this one...Soft-top Doka with metal roof added. I have a factory Soft-top Doka and the rear seat in the AD is the same as the factory one.
Although I could be wrong, but it's still a rustbucket!!
