Looked through previous post's, didn't see a real definitive answer. Found some like new XML's, and wanted an informed opinion.
My truck is stock (standard gearing) and my tires are pretty much junk.
Thanks for any input.

Hi

If it was me I wouldn't. I like the fact that afaik Merc fit that size to heavier mogs as a standard option, like my U1700, so thats what I have. The mog is built heavier to cope with them, a U1300l isn't (again, as far as I know). My steering box is bigger than yours etc :p Some people I'm sure do though, so I'm not sure how you'll get a definitive yes or no?

But if I was just using it close to home so a breakage wouldn't hurt much then maybe.

:)

Those are the same size as the 15.5R20 IIRC. Their 46"? Lots of us run 46" tall on the 1300L. I have not had a single issue with mine.

Same size as 15.5R20. Most don't have problems but there are some reports of rubbing at full flex and steering. I personally just fitted a set of 14.5R20 aka 365/80R20 and I think these fill the fenders quite nicely.

I thought I would SEE what those tires KC mentioned looked like and this came up. Unimog See tractor FLU 419 wheel mounted on Michelin 15.5-R20 XL 46" tall | eBay That guy has gone through a lot of SEEs so he would know. Has anyone else SEEn those 10" rims on SEEs? Maybe that is the new standard so they can run the same kind of tires on everything else that all use a 10.00 rim. What is it? A "V" rim? I can't remember.

I experienced minor rubbing on my bent up fenders. But once I straightened them, I don't really hit them. I ultimately did a 1.5" lift up front to level the truck out since I rarely load it. But even with 5000lbs of shingles in the bed she still sits levelish.

its hard to tell but those dont look like the correct 10x20 "V" rim.

every one that i have seen is a multi piece unit and the one in the picture does not look like it.

I gave it away to a ranch hand who uses it as a fixed remote base station with heat. It was off a domestic military ambulance and though it fit "ok", it just wasn't of use to me at the time. If it had been a foot wider I might have kept it.

Those tires just look right in terms of size! How do you like driving it so far?

So far so good. I'm getting a little vibration between 43 and 47 MPH. I guess I'll have to get to a tire place and see about getting some balance powder/beads to smooth it out. I like the lower rpm's at 50 and it looks pretty sick:)
