Does the 2001 SLK320 still have the 38-pin diagnostic connector under the hood in addition to the 16-pin scanner connector inside the car?

If so where is it located? I've looked in the fuse box on the USA driver side and the electrical box on the passenger's side as well as other locations and have not found it.

The reason I ask is because I paid an online MB help site to answer a fault code issue I am having and was told by a 20-year experienced MB technician I needed to connect to the 38-pin connector and not the 16-pin connector my scanner was connected to. Some sites I've looked at say both connectors are implemented others say the 38-pin has been dropped.

No 38 pin connecter on my USA SLK 320. You can read everything using the OBD port - assuming you have the right software.

Thanks Kobus for the information. I have been doing a lot research and I'm going with the SDS software. Apparently the older 2014 version and the 3C MUX is the setup and I'm going that way. But I wanted to just confirm I did not have the 38 pin and your doing that. I have also read I can access all the different systems thought the 16 pin OBDII connector. Thanks for your time.
