Hi, have a nice 82' 300TD with 250,000 miles that recently developed a "Hot Start" problem.

Here are the specifics:
a. Cold start, always easy - little cranking
b. Hot Start (after engine is warm), doesn't want to fire on the first try. Almost without fail, will start up on 2nd try - after very little cranking.
c. Injectors have been cleaned w/ Diesel Purge
d. Main and secondary fuel filters have been replaced.
d. Valves have recently been adjusted (no help)
e. Injector timing checked - OK
f. Timing chain inspected - OK
g. New glowplug relay (last winter)

Do you think that the problem could be due to worn injectors (or weak springs)? The shop that services it seems to think it may be due to fuel pressure leak-down within the injector pump. Has anyone ever had this problem?

Thanks,
Jeff

Can't help but think there is air getting in the system. Some sort of leak that opens when warm and requires you to turn the engine over to pump back up. I might try using the manual pump when it is hot to see if you can find a leak.
