Congratulations on a job well done...

The SLS was hooked up as well? You've done a lot of work on these cars... I'd bet you would be able to build a W126 from the ground up if given the parts :)

cheers Snibble !

The SLS I am hooking up as we speak. I removed the entire SLS from the donor 560SEC today. I fitted the SLS bottle today and the final section of the return pipe , which is the most tricky as it runs under the engine, along the cross member !

But gess what ! When I removed the rear section of the SLS from the donor SEC, i.e. the struts, the control unit, accumulators etc...I discovered the car has GENUINE GENUINE white AMG springs at the rear !!! They look very new too as they are very clean and have the AMG label and part number all marked up. I shall remove these tomorrow and post up pics !! But what a find ! I mean the car came with a full AMG bodykit, steering wheel and AERO I's.....but AMG rear springs as well !!!

The fronts are standard springs I think, I'll count the coils tomorrow.

One accumulator (right side) was totally shot, so I'll need a new one and will replace the following when fitting the system to the 560 SE :

- rubber bushings on the struts
- linkage bracket from control unit to anti roll bar
- washers on hoes connections to struts
- SLS bottle filter
- right side accumulator

The complete pipes are fairly recent replacements too, with no rust or corrosion , and in the UK they are usually well corroded at the rear end badly. I will have to put in extensions of about 8cm to the piipes, as the SE is longer. But the pipes are nice and flexible copper, so fitment wil be very straightforward.

I'll be fitting the system over next weekend once I receive the fresh parts as listed above - I shall post up pics tomorrow of the SLS system I removed today.

Looks great talbir, I am envious of your ability and equipment to do the job.

I would tackle a lot more things if I had the right tools to do them, living in a regional area, we don't have hire places for some of the tools you would need.

However, I would never attempt the sort of work you have done!

Simply inspiring :)
