:surrender: I just ran into a guy who owns a 300 with 2.6L engine. I did not know that 300E has 2.6L engine.
Does anybody know if the 300E 2.6L engine is the same as the 190E 2.6L engine?

Because they are both the m103 swap the main internals are mostlikely the same, the 124 may just have some different addon bits.

The 2.6 was a variant, and yes as mentioned by Kynption they are both 103's. But U.S. 103 2.6-158 HP, Euro 103 2.6-177HP :D

The 2.6 was offered in the 124 body in the US for just a few years, roughly 89-92. It had a few less standard items than the "regular" 124 with a 3 liter engine for less money. In '93 the 2.8 came in for one year, then was gone. For '94 MB upped the equipment & dropped the price on the 124 thanks to strong competition from Lexus.

Those real numbers? Damn.
Within the 155-158 HP range for the U.S. versions, mainly due to emission restrictions. By the way, U.S. versions have low compression engines (good for turbo :) ), while Euro's have high comp engines

Was just surprised at how low the numbers were.

My 4cyl euro pumps out a considerable amount more than that.

Euro 260E had M103 2.6l which produced 168hp.... the 177hp engine was the catalysed M103 3.0l
